New Puppy tested positive for Luxating Patella, Please HELP! :) Hi YTers
I have a little bit of a dilema. I went to visit a show breeder who had a male Biewer yorkie she wanted to place in a pet home. When I had first inquired about the puppy she had been very upfront right away in telling me the reason why she is placing him in a pet home, and not keeping him for showing and breeding, is because he tested positive for Luxating Patella in his genetic screening.
I still went out to see the puppy because she was not that far from me, and in my 6 months of research, I hadn't found a breeder that was local enough to go "check things out" and actually hold and play with a new puppy.
OMG why did I fall in love with this little guy??? He is sooo sweet, he just nuzzled me the whole time. WHen I put him down, he just ran inbetween my feet and wanted to play on them. I felt like we instantly bonded! I also got to see the mother and she was just a doll, very mild mannered and absolutely stunning.
Now I am torn! Does anyone here on YT have a yorkie or biewer with LP? I have already purchased furniture stairs. The breeder says hes Grade 1 and that he is not in any pain nor does it affect his walking or playing. She said there is a small possibility he may need surgery when he is older, I don't have a problem dealing with this but what do you all think? PLEASE help, I am thinking of placing a deposit today.... |
