I have been asked to leave stores before- I don't take mine in places where there is food or where it is specifically posted that no dogs are allowed. If it is a small store, I will usually ask someone when I first come in if it is okay if I walk around with my dog. If it is a large store where it is hard to find someone at all, I will just walk around and if asked to leave tell them I am sorry but I wasn't aware of their policy.
