Ugh, the dreaded salary question. I personally would not give a range. Let's say, hypothetically you tell them "I'm looking to make between $30-$35k". You are telling them you will accept the lower end. I think it sounds better if you say "I'm looking to make around $35k." If you give a range and they say "ok, $31k" then you will accept it. But if you tell them you want $35k and they offer $31k, you can just repeat that you really would like to make at least $35k.

Is your current job similar to the new opportunity? I wouldn't tell them what you are making now, unless they really lowball the offer.
