 New Puppy Frustrations
Hi Everyone. I just joined not too long ago and everyone has been so nice and encouraging!! I need some of that support now. Henry is just about 12 weeks old and we have had him for 2 weeks. He is a joy but a LOT more work than my husband and I imagined. I am going to take Henry to obedience school but not until the end of August when he has had all his shots. For the most part, he is a good puppy and doesn't do a lot of the bad things I hear others complain about. However, the energy I spend with him is starting to drain me. Not to mention the stress it is causing between my husband and me. I just need some encouragement that it does ge better, right?? Because he is in his crate all day while I am at work and at night while he is sleeping, I don't want to have to put him in there anymore than he has too so I just play with him in the evenings. I take him outside for potty, take him for walks, and try to find various other ways to hold his attention. He likes bully sticks and will chew on them, but like anything else, his attention isn't held long. Does this get better because right now Henry consumes 100% of my thoughts and energy and my emotions are going crazy!! I love him but sometimes the effort and strain on our household doesn't seem worth it... :-( |
