Willy gets seasonal allergies, He chews his feet & belly & scratches his little head like crazy. We started by giving him Benedryl caplets at first they worked ok,and we also changed his food, but it progressively got worse. Now when that time of the year hits he ends up on Prednisone(?sp), thankfully his allergies are seasonal as the vet doesn't want him on it long term.
My mom had a cockapoo,Dafne, with very bad allergies, Daf alway had her poor feet chewed almost raw, and she had a hot spot or 2 on her back. Mom tried everything, food changes, benedryl, herbal remedies, meds from the vet, shampoos, etc. Mom just got to the piont that she just tried to make her comfortable and a little less itchy.
Good luck with Chachi, hopefully you can find something to make him more comfortable, Bless his little heart...
