My husband use to work in the mines before we moved to GA. His dad died in the mines and a few days later my husband went right back in. This is truly a horrific ordeal to go through. My whole family were miners at one time. My grandfather, father, & uncles all retired from the mines. Thank God that they never went through anything like this.
My heart goes out to all of the families and the whole town.
The whole time I was watching this story all I could think of was thank God that Jimmy no longer works in the mines and that I will hopefully never have to go through this with a family member. I do still have a brother-in-law that works in the mines but, I don't think that he has much longer to go before he can retire. |
