I am proud to be a Yorkie owner who has converted a big dog owner. Since my co-worker (who has only had labs in her life) has met my furbabies she tells people she is a convert. Although I know she will never get a Yorkie (she likes hiking with her dog), she thinks mine are great. I don't think she ever knew how much personality can be packed into such a little dog. She is looking for a Puggle for a buddy for her Lab. Her lab is great and has no idea she is bigger than my babies.
Yes, I have the co-workers at work who say they could punt my babies across the wash, their cat could eat my dog, or some other comments. But when they meet my little ones, well...lets just stay the toughest most macho man I work with did not look so tough when he was on the floor giggling as he was getting attacked with puppy love and kisses.
I think there is some stereo typical thoughts regarding these little guys. I still have a lot of people who are shocked to learn Yorkies are not all yappy dogs. Poppy used to run up to people, go flat on her belly and wag her tail until they would give her a scratch - not one bark, yelp or whimper. They are not all delicate and dainty. It is like when people say all Pitbulls are mean and will bite you. I know that is not true - I have met many doggie owners with friendly Pitbulls.
People say things when they are will others because they think they are being funny. Others are just insensitive uninformed bullies.
Your Remy is darling and it is a shame everyone does not get it.
