Breeding is a serious thing and should not be taken lightly.

You should not attempt to breed them if you have no idea what you are doing !

If your female has had a hernia.... Not a good idea. The effect that a pregnancy could have on the hernia is serious. To much of a chance of putting her life at risk over a litter of pups. With the possibility of only whelping one at that. The outcome is by far too serious to predict and would not be worth the loose of your female.

Be very careful not to allow them to breed and if it were me, I would have her spayed..
