Cali will be 3 in September and is bathed weekly or sometimes more often if she get really dirty - I have never had ear problems - I cut a cotton ball in half and roll it into a cylinder and put one in each ear. If I think I got any water in the ears I somtimes put a tiny drop of alcohol in each ear. No, she does not like the cotton put in her ears and sometimes shakes them out LOL, and they may be damp/wet when you take them out, but they do block most of the water it seems.
Of course we do lots of treats and kisses, too!
