Toto had an ear infection, years ago, and after her vet got it cleared up I have used ear plugs and have never had another problem. I always let the vet pluck her ears because I don't trust anyone else to do it. The plugs I use are the little round, firm ones that you roll up tiny and they expand in the ear. The only problem I have had is remembering to take them out after her bath!
