I have always used a Harness on my male, he pulls with his whole body and he even stands up on his hind legs and walks when he sees another dog. I tell him "Wait for me" and he usually slows down and stops doing it, if he does not I just take the end of the leash and hit him slightly on his butt and then he starts trying to kiss me beacuase he thinks I'm mad at him. I have a thick Leather "Louis Vuitton" collar with an ID. tag on it and I've tried to walk him on the collar and he refuses to move so I take it that he really does not like it or it irritates his throat? So I just use it for looks and Identification.
