So...just started reading about this case, last week I think (no US news in my house) and I couldn't believe the outcome. I don't understand why other charges weren't sought out, and I think the prosecution signed her "get out of jail free card" when they went after the maximum punishment in this case (death penalty). I think they would have been able to get her locked up for at least 15-20 (not what she deserves but something) and pushed for negligent homicide rather than manslaughter. I think it would have been easier to push the jury that way. But a slap on the wrist for this is just outrageous!
Personally, I think she'll get a book deal (but it won't sell as well as they'll project) and will sell the rights to some studio but they wont be able to find an actress willing to play the part, at least no big name one. And once the dust settles and she realizes she's no longer in the limelight she'll find some other destructive way to get her thrust back into the medias attention.
I do think she needs to seek professional help, she shows signs of extreme attention seeking personality behaviors. Very similar to moms who slowly kill their children to gain sympathy from friends and family.
I hope she doesn't find anyone willing to reproduce with her...she really isn't fit to be a mother. |
