Default reverse sneezing-spay question

First I want to say- pls no links to why you shouldn't spay/neuter- I have done enough research to form my own opinion.

I have an important question regarding my "baby" lilly- she is now over 6mo old.

She has to have surgery on her eyes- her tear ducts don't work- either they are blocked or have not formed- the surgery was to be done when she was getting spayed.

She has in the last week developed a reverse sneeze (it sounds just like a sneeze going in instead of out- if that makes sense) my vet agrees over the phone that it sounds like reverse sneeze, but I am making an apt to make sure that this is what it is.

Anyways- my question is, if this is for sure a reverse sneeze, is it going to do more damage to her if I have her put under for surgery?

I just want to also add- I have all fixed females in my home except for her- her "mom" had to be fixed because after her pregnancy she was in a constant heat state for months- is was uncomfortable for her to be in this state.

I need to get her eyes done, I believe because her face is always wet. and it smells often and she has a big risk of infection (according to my vet)

so, after this long post- with a reverse sneeze situation, is it safe for them to have surgery... since they get a breathing tube?

Thanks

edited to add- I will also ask my vet- but I have found that the more knowledge I can get the better- and many people here are very knowledgable on yorkies
