I read alot on the site but could not find if Emu oil is a medium or long chain Fatty Acid... I'll assume long chain (LCFA) and are most oils. Coconut Oil is a MCFA and is metabolized differently, and actually helps the pancreas and keeps insulin levels more stable.

Plus I like the fact that CO comes from a plant, and I purchase it from a 'Green" grower. Waiting for the day I can go completely vegetarian...
I quite agree that using coconut oil would be better for the dogs who have problems with animal meat/fat. Two of my girls got so dry and flaky over the winter that they were digging themselves to death, so I started pressure cooking very marbled pot roast (with a couple veggies), adding 1tsp. of peanut oil to their meal and coating their skin with the Emu oil a couple days before a bath. In only a weeks time, their skin cleared up and they aren't itching. Their coat is not dull anymore either, it's very shiny in fact. (they are very allergic to poultry and fish).
