I'm used to hearing people argue outside in the middle of the night. Usually it's a young couple drunk slurring their words and I completely ignore it. Last night, I heard a man yelling outside of my window. I didn't hear any other voices so I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep. Then Teddy starting growling and barking (he sleeps with me) so since Teddy already was in full alert and wouldn't let me go back to sleep I decided to look out my window.
Outside of my window (I live in the second floor of a condo) was a man screaming over a woman who was rocking back and forth while on her knees. From the looks of it he had parked his car there, took her out of the car and started screaming at her...she looked completely out of it. I've never seen anyone rock back and forth like that...it was so eery. He grabbed her arm and kept screaming and shaking her while she was basically dragged on the floor. I screamed for my S.O. to grab my phone (he was in the other room) and to take Teddy out of my room because at this point he was in a full on bark so that I can call the police. Unfortunately, my S.O. turned on the light in my room and whether it was the light that spooked the driver or he heard my dog barking he pulled the lady onto the car and drove away to another building where I can barely see them anymore. I saw him park and get out of the car again, but since It was a tall car I couldn't see if the woman got out of the car as well. He then got back into his car about 5 mins later and drove away. The police came too late
I felt so bad about the ordeal because I had an IPHONE! I could have taken pictures or videotaped everything or tried to get license plates...but I panicked and all I can think about was to call the police and give as many details as I could while the situation unfolded...while at the same time get my dog out of my room because I was pretty sure that in the same way that I can hear that man screaming out of the window he could hear my dog barking excessively...I really wish I taught Teddy the quiet command
The police thanked me for calling and for doing the best that I could. I only listened halfheartedly because all I could think about was that that woman wherever she is now...did not look right to me at all. I don't know if she was rocking back and forth because she was in some sort of drug induced state, or if she was scared/or was beaten down. All I know is that I had a hard time going to sleep last night.
Thanks for letting me share. I'm still pretty upset about this.
