I think when they initially contacted her and asked her the questions, she may have lied because she really did believe Casey to be innocent, and a big hurdle for her to overcome was the fact that the police weren’t interested in looking for anyone else. This was extremely frustrating for her, and I think they were doing everything possible to try to convince the police they needed to concentrate on finding the kidnappers so that they could save Caylee. Cindy just had not had enough time to process that Casey could be a cold blooded killer.

I’m certainly NOT saying it’s ever right to lie under oath, I’m just saying I can understand it when you are trying to protect your child, but then I think the jurors will understand that too, and not take too seriously what Cindy says.

I agree but also we are a society of liars. Presidents lie under oath, politicians lie, people lie to save face everyday. So do I think any less of someone who does it under oath when its the state of our society no
