Did she have thinner fur when she was a puppy too? If yes, it's just probably her genetics. If no, has her skin been closely inspected for ringworm? In dogs, ringworm doesn't appear as a ring, but more like a splotchy, odd little patch w/ hair loss. Marcel caught ringworm from his old vet when he was younger. Not uncommon.
