My uncle had a Husky who lived to be 15.... That dog never went to the vet, she got loose all the time, was once running across a 5 lane highway. Yeah she had nine lives or something

it drives me crazy when people who are so nonchalant with their pets tend to have the longest living pets. But she was in a lot of pain in her last few years and thankfully my aunt took her in and took care of her and did take her to the vet.
But yes I feel vet visits are very necessary especially at 1 year old if they have not been since a pup. I think once they get a bit older too they are very important.
