I had a name planned for my first Yorkie, but when I found my boy, it didn't suit him. He needed a strong name to suit his look and personality. The new name worked well with his litter-given name which became his registered moniker.
For my second boy, the name came to me immediately and when I met him in person, it was perfect. He answered to it immediately.
If the name suits the pup and you like it, go for it.
