The bell thing is a good idea I just said to my husband my kids will be ringing it all day long lol! I may try that
He is separate from Myles all day long so dont think that plays into his training issues I think it stemmed from the breeder that did no training what so ever!

What was ur experience w/ the neutering? Why did you say they can go backwards after it? Just curious. I appreciate your time in answering me, possibly u can contact me at cd2545@msn.com this way we can talk easier there.

Thanks Denise
Denise, you can set your YorkieTalk personal preferences to receive email notification. I prefer to converse in the forum, otherwise my email would runneth over and turn into an unmanageable mess.

My boys are 2 years and 2.5 years old. We still use piddle pads in addition to outdoors, so not all of my training methods will help you. The primary elements, you are already employing: praise, limiting freedom to move about the house, supervision, frequent potty trips.

I personally did not experience any problems after neutering, but I have read here on YT of rare instances of it happening. You likely do not need to be concerned.

There are different kinds of bells that you can use -- either hanging jingle bells on the doorknob that your pup can paw at when he needs to go out, or a classic school teacher type bell on the floor. There is a doggy doorbell sold on amazon that comes with detailed instructions on how to train your dog.

There are also a couple of "sticky" posts at the top of this forum with more info on potty training. You could go back to the strict crate training method which is described in one of those posts.
