Is it really that the pup shouldn't go out anywhere, or that it shouldn't be walking on the ground (where other animals have been, peoples shoes that track disease, etc.)? I've always taken my new pups with me everywhere too...just in a carrier. Just like I did my own kids. Human babies usually go everwhere with their Mums too. I thought the important thing is what they touch or don't touch, and cleanliness before they are handled.
