This situations sounds quite similar with my experience of bringing one of my puppies home. First we had to deal with his yeasty ears, with sometime we cleared it up with some ear cleaner. Then we slowly started to notice that Max was itching more than normal. We have tried everything, and we have come to the conclusion that he has allergies. We have not concluded what he is allergic to, but giving him fish oil supplements and switching his food have helped tremendously. He still has flakey skin, and licks his paws frequently though.
