Agreed! All of these things should be taken into consideration before adding another pup to your house.
Another thing to consider is whether you have the patience/ time to dedicate to the dogs apart from each other if they do not get along- there may be an adjustment period, or the two dogs may never take to each other. Personally, when I add a new pet it is for life- so when adding a new pet I considered the possibility that the two would not get along and I would have to keep and entertain them apart from each other. Thankfully, that did not happen in my case.
I LOVE both of mine and most of the time I appreciate having two and the way they interact and play together. But, there are times I think it would have been easier if I had just stuck with one.
