I have this same seat. The car seatbelt goes through the bottom, similar to the way a child's carseat straps in. works with a lap belt or a shoulder/lap belt. Once it's belted in, that seat isn't going anywhere. One thing I do different is I don't actually strap the kids to the seat. I have a belt wrapped around the car's seatback and I clip them to that instead of to the booster. The D ring on the booster is really just attached to fabric and styrofoam and I was concerned that my big boy especially, if he decided he wanted loose, would be able to rip out the D ring. Also if, heaven forbid, I did have a wreck, they would be strapped to the car's seat instead of the booster.
