The seat belt goes around the L shape at the bottom and secures it in place. I have the large seat just for ZoE...they say its for a dog 25 lb & under or 2 small dogs....I don't see how. They run small in size IMO. She can lay down in hers and has room for her toys too and a blanket in winter.
