We have a harness for Bailey and he's fine on it. He doesn't pull (well except if he's running after Dozer or my fiance) and pretty much walks right next to me. I had a regular collar with my chihuahua and she'd strain so much on it and cough & hack during walks, I swore that I'd only use a harness from now on.
