Research your vet if you don't know him/her very well! My step-mom had a tiny pomeranian whose kidney shut down just days after she was spayed. No one "officially" confirmed anything but it was suspected this happend bc of the anesthesia (anesthesia can cause renal failure in humans). We aren't sure if she was given too much or if this was just a "fluke" but thankfully the pom pulled through 2 or 3 surgeries and is living happily with just one kidney.

Sorry if this scares you, it's very rare for this to happen and I'm sure your baby will be fine going by what others have said.
