What I do is take a trimmer and shave around their little hoo-hoo's and work my way up a LITTLE bit ...but stop at the
lower part of their bellies ...they tend to stay cleaner that way. I also trim around the private area but clip any long hair... rather than shave too much.
IF the hair on the inside of their legs is getting stained it would be a good idea to trim it - I would use use sizzors on that ...just clip it shorter and see if that helps...if it's the same place over and over I would just trim that up and see how they do.
