Princess was really bad at biting and mouthing as an other pup. The vet advised me to say ouch or something to let them know you're startled & hurt and then put her down on the floor. I'd stand up & completely ignore her, usually go to do something else or refuse to put her on the couch with me. It took a while but it really did work.

Also, I read not to play rough or even tug of war until they have established these more gentle play behaviors. I didn't teach Princess to tug until she was about 10 months old & it was even later before I "rough housed" with her, which is still super gentle, but sometimes she will mouth my hands during it and she does not bite at all. If she does get to rough I stop play, even if it doesn't hurt just to keep her mindful of how it's supposed to be done.
