Interesting, I agree with the one comment that they wouldn't have their jbos if you didn't have pets. Or even, "Hey, instead of another pet think of him/her as job security."
What I have discovered when working with people is that many times people give off the preception of being total jerks but honestly, I think they're just trying to be funny or start conversation (dry humor).
I usually call it (forgive the lack of political correctness) social retardation. Many people, especially in those types of jobs where they're interacting with pets as opposed to people usually wouldn't be cantidates for Ms. Congeniality (I know there are vet techs on this site as well as vets and please don't assume that I'm grouping all of you into a sterotype).
My vet brother can't stand. He thinks she's blunt and rude and not personalbe. I, however love her and can handle her bluntness and many times shoot it right back to her.
In the end, all that matters to me is that she takes really good care of Gizzy and took care of Cammie when she passed.
I would though address it to your vet. Say it like "Hey look, I don't know if you mean it or not, but this is how it's coming off to me. And frankly I'm a little offended.."
See where it goes from there. |
