Hello Yorkie Lovers! I am new to yorkietalk.com with questions. Hello everyone, after searching around the net for a reliable source, I managed to stumble on this great site. I am new to yorkietalk.com; also I am a new owner of my first Yorkie Terrier and have a few questions. Minnie is adopted; She's 2 years of age, and she now has a great loving home with my family. My father passed away Easter Sunday of this year and the surprising death has put me & my family in deep depression. How ironic that Minnie previous owner has passed away also, I now know for sure it was meant for me to adopted her by the grace of God blessings. Ever since we got her, she has been a uplifting gift to our family, very lovable. However, I am new and would like to know a few tips on how to take care of her. I didn't take her to the veterinarian because I am waiting on her records from the previous owner son. Well, I took her to get groomed, it looks as if she hasn't been groomed in quiet some time, her hair was very tangled. Although she is nice, clean and groomed... I've notice that she has weight loss. I can feel her spinal cord, and she seems to be very thin without all the hair. Is this normal? And if not, should I have her checked for worms? How would I know if she has worms? Her appetite is very minimal (Barely Eating), and she only likes to eat table food from what I notice. I know that its not a good idea to feed table food, so I boiled her chicken and chopped it in small bits. What do you guys suggest? A guy at Petco told me to feed her Cesars Bistro Steak Florentine Flavor Dog food because of the small portion yorkies eat. So far, no good... she doesn't seem to like that at all. What to do?
I've attached a picture of Minnie so you guys could see her.
Thanks for you guys time, your opinions are much appreciated. |
