Yeah, it really surprised me at how calm they were. I work across the street from that pond, and I see people feed them but they have always kept their distance while they eat what is tossed to them. These babies, you could actually touch and they came right up to your hand looking for food. I didn't try to pick them up because I didn't want the kids to think they could later. They did make their way back to the pond though. I could tell they are still young because they don't have all their adult feathers yet across their backs. There were no adults leading them. Poor things. The kids were very active, but also very gentle with them.
