Exactly, most flies lay their eggs in poop. These Cuterebra normally seek out rabbits and mice. My GSD was laying right next to my Yorkie, but she had not one fly on her, so it was a case of mistaken identity, as Peek is the size of a small rabbit.

Again, I think it's more the size of the host that the flies seek out, but on that TV show 'Monsters Inside Me' there was a person with one on the back of his neck...
