Our vets have not required it if they are hospitalized. I've had mine in for surgeries and day stays for tests at both my general vet and two major specialty hospitals and no one even asks. I am going to be doing titers too, but only for core vaccines and only for Teddy. I know what you mean about titers although my vet seems to have confidence in the process so I'll just defer to her on it.
