Nancy your last sentence brings up another issue and is exactly where I am on this vaccine these days. Barney has had kennel cough twice because neither the intranasal nor the injectable will cover all strains. He got KC twice just from a walk through Petsmart! He went on an antibiotic and had rest, just like we would with an upper respiratory infection. I do not have my dogs groomed and the bordatella is not req'd for our obedience school so I no longer give it at all. The disease is self limiting, just as the common cold is in humans. By the way, Daisy did not catch Barney's KC despite the fact they were together 24/7 during his illness both times.

So I now say NO to bordatella overall, but I would still opt for the intranasal if I were giving it and that was the recommendation of my AHHA certified vet at the time Teddy had it for early puppy classes (at my option and not as required).
