It is more comfortable used as a cleanser and helps any gunk to work it's way out. I've done it both ways, after a regular ear clenser (if ears aren't too irritated), or I skip the regular cleanser if the ears are really bothersome to the pup. The CO is very soothing...

I put enough in an ear so when I massage the ear canal I can hear it gooshing around. Then, let them shake out any excess and wipe the ear flap off. Then about every 2 or 3 days I apply 3-5 drops per ear for 1 week. Problems are usually cleared up by then. If not, I continue for another week and then go to once a week.
