It's a blessing that one of your beagles didn't go in after the 'coon. They have a nasty reputation for drowning dogs. I can tell you from having lived with one for almost a year that 'coons can be VERY aggressive and MEAN! i loved my little Annie, and even though we raised her inside our house she was a wild animal and never let me forget it.

My husband said the same thing. He was brush hogging and of course no where around. Lol. He said the coon would have ended up being the winner.

My Beagle jumped right into the pond and starting swimming after it. I felt sorry for the coon but didn't want anything to happen to my dog. This Beagle is the one I had to bottle feed so he is a little special to me. Thank goodness it got away.
I am not liking these hunting instincts from Rosie. She just got a bath (because she had all kind of woods goodies in her hair) and she is curled up sleeping in my lap. Totally clueless she almost gave me a heart attack!
