Bonnie, The blue set like I have ,don't get hot. I do have the spray and I periodically use it while I am grooming because it cleans the blades also. I test the blades on the back of my hand every few minutes and honestly they get a little warm to to touch, but mine have never gotten hot. Bogie is a pure cotton coat and has very thick hair. I usually do him first and I have never had to stop and wait for the blades to cool.
