I belong to a social group, and most of the women are in their late 40's+. Almost everyone has a small fur baby. The men were talking, and agreed that owning Yorkies, Maltese, Shih Tzus etc. is a middle age woman's baby replacement. They ALL agreed that they are no longer "top dog" since the fur baby came home. Even the teens agreed that mom likes the fur baby better. One hubby ranked the dog first, then the kids, then the pond fish, and himself last. The husbands and kids were convinced.
