I think the combs are pretty cheap. The blue set comes with a 7FC which I think is almost the same as a 7F. I think the F stands for finishing. The only thing I've heard is that some people get more than one blade because the blade gets very hot and can burn the dog, so they change blades or let them cool down. I would think one speed would be enough, but I really don't know. kalina82 knows a lot about grooming, and talks about different blades on this thread.
