Sounds mean but this is what I do.........I use a good cleaning solution and bought a pair of hemostats. I pluck em out 'against the grain' with those and the ears are always clean and free of moisture.
Of course if you cannot do it, the groomer can
They do get used to it trust me. My poodle doesn't even blink anymore.
When she was about a yr old, she had a nasty ear infection. The vet told me to pluck those hairs and keep em clean. Never had a problem ever since.

LOL @ the urge for a twix now! I think it will be opposite for me now. Sort of like a Twix diet plan. I will never be able to eat one again!
