Her contract stated i was to pay 3000.00 for her, plus they got pick of the litter from any litters she had and they got "free" stud service from my male. Pretty hefty price I think. Well I was also told she would be about 5-6 pounds full grown and when he weight kept creeping up i asked her breeder about this and all she said was "Well do you want to trade her for another dog?" I said No, I love this one and i do not care if she ends up being 30 pounds. Like I could just trade her because she was a little bigger than I expected (by this time she was 10 months old). They brought me a girl to breed with my male and later they said she only had 1 puppy so my male must be sterile...I asked her if she had lost her mind, Obviously if she had a baby and Pixie had babies he was far from sterile. Then about 2 months later they brought a little girl to me to be bred by my male, it was Pixies sister and littermate and the spitting image of Pixie but she was very tiny, 3 pounds. Other than that they could have been twins. I flat out said there is no way i am going to be responsible for having this little girl bred she is far to tiny, they said no she will be fine just do it, it is in your contract. I told them to take me to court because I was not going to be the one responsible for her getting pregnant. By this time i was getting a little more wise to puppy mills, and greeders and generally unscrupulous people that bred these little guys so i told her she would never again get another stud service from my male, I did not care what the contract said. With Pixie's litter she told me she got pick of the litter as per my contract....I lied to her and told her all 3 babies had passed away, i just could not put a puppy into her hands. After i had Pixie spayed and told her she would not be using my male for stud I never ever heard from her again, which was more than fine by me..... |
WOW, I can't believe there are people like that!! I would have definitely done the SAME thing you did. I'm glad that you never heard from her again. Unfortunately, there are still going to be many that will fall victim to her. UGH what a HORRIBLE person. I've never heard of this before, but warned by some breeders as I'm currently looking for a pup. No worries, I will read the contract and won't fall victim to a greeder like that. I have heard of a lady that have a yorkie as her service dog and the "breeder" gave him to her, but she has to stud him to her.
