Mine take about 1 mL on each meal, except Tink... she gets 2 mL each meal. I start them off with 0.25 mLs twice a day and work up gradually. When they get too much, their coats get a bit oily to the touch, then I just reduce the amount by 0.25 mL for 1 week and check their coats again. None of mine will touch their food without CO on it. I use it on wet food and dry food, just stir it around to coat the food a bit and voila!
Your vet probably reacted that way bc a lot of folks think Coconut Oil is the 'new fad' thing going around. I've read about the general health of populations who use coconut regularly in their diet and have been very impressed. Even used topically, I was shocked at how quickly little sores and cuts heal up completely, both on the dogs, and on me.
Yummmm...Coconut Tacos sound great!
