Definitely sounds like nerves. Teddy was 8 months old when we brought him home and like you, we think he missed being around more dogs -- although here he had his brother Max. It took him a few months before he stopped getting nervous.

Try the kitchen again, or a bathroom (make sure the toilet seat is DOWN, Yorkies have drowned in toilets ). When you leave, don't make a big fuss. Use key words and phrases that she will learn to recognize like, "I'll be right back" or "I'll be back shortly." The experts say not to make a big deal when you return, but I can't resist. We celebrate.
