Hi everyone! I wanted to give an update on Bella and what I decided to do.
I decided to schedule the surgery for this morning. I dropped her off at the vet at 9am so Bella is at the vet now having the surgery done
. The vet told me that I could fly with her after the surgery so I have decided to take her with me for the weekend. I do have my sister who could watch her at home and give her the medicines, but I would feel more comfortable if she was with me and I think she would prefer to be with me also, lol. Please pray for my baby as she is in surgery today. I just hate putting these little ones under! My nerves are going crazy but I am just trying to stay calm. I cannot wait for them to call me. They are supposed to call me between 3 and 6pm to pick her up. Hopefully, she does not need to stay the night.
Any advice on what I will need to know or what I should expect after the surgery? I imagine I will just give her the medicine they give me and be very gentle with her. I wonder how often she will want to go out to go the bathroom after the surgery. I remember reading that for 1-2 days after the surgery she will have blood in her pee, so I will try to stay calm when I see that. Is there any other complication or issue I should expect or be on the look out for?
I will have the number to a vet in San Antonio, Texas- since that is where we are flying into- just in case something goes wrong during the flight and I need to go to a vet immediately.
