I know what you mean. I worked in hospitals. The State says hospitals must meet certain construction/engineering standards/grade. It is very expensive construction. Hospitals must have very expensive generators, sewage precautions, disposable biohazard waste. Just one of our TEE probes in cardiology is $20,000. Ultrasound machines are close to a quarter of a million a piece. It's like everyone who sells things to hospitals views them as a goldmine, and the poor pt suffers.
