I think the food change also. You said it was higher in protein? That's probably what caused it. I changed Uni's food to a lamb based one (she likes lamb) and got sick, it was too rich for her blood. When I took her to the vet they did a stool sample, found no parasites, felt no obstruction in the intestines, so he suggested bloodwork, and her bloodwork came back as mild pancreatitis. Maybe if this happens again (after a food chance) have his bloodwork done so they can see what happened.
I ended up switching to Honest Kitchen Preference (meatless and you add your own fresh cooked meat). She loved this now, and I switch up between whitefish and chicken. I think the texture and warmth (you mix it with warm water) gets them to eat better. It's something you may want to try out. The Preference has the lowest fat and protein % with the Verve (beef) the next lowest. They are made with human grade ingredients then dehydrated.
