I just got a 10 week old as well. I haven't had a puppy for a couple of years now and forget this stage. He is a whiner at night too. We bought him a tiny crate (he is only a pound or so) and put it on the night stand (yes it is that small) so he can kind of see us. Or next to the other dog's crates so he can see them. When he whines we clap our hands together really loud. Never letting him see us do this, nor speaking as so he doesn't know we are doing this. We try putting him in the crate during the day for short periods and only taking him out once he's stopped crying. We are on day 5 of having him and he is adjusting well. I sort of feel like the breeder took him away from mommy a little tooo soon, but that's just my personal opinion. Good luck I hope I helped. |
