[joy and bella]

Hi everyone,

Last Friday (so a little over a week ago) Bella was acting funny. My vet did not have any appointments and I knew she had a UTI by the way she was acting- my vet kept telling me to get a urine sample but I couldn't bc all she would pee at that point was little drops. So, I went to my old vet and they fit me in and my friends mom was working there so it worked out nicely to have her there.

Long story short, bella has a bladder stone. The vet tech said he saw it through the ultrasound that he did. They put her on antibiotic for a UTI and then said I needed to come back in a week to get an X-Ray and she needed surgery to remove it. In addition she is on this special Royal Canin food for Urinary issues. I was in the middle of law school exams and so they said it was alright for me to wait a week for the surgery.

My dad suggested that she have some laser done that breaks up the stones instead of surgery bc it is less invasive etc. I guess I just really need all your advice! I have tried online research on the laser but it is difficult to really figure out what is going on.

In addition, I will be going out of town Friday- Sunday and then again Sat- Sat. So I am wondering what the recovery time is going to be for my baby. My sister will be watching her when I am out of town but I do not want her to be recovering without me.
