Now that he is on chicken and rice how do I get him back on dry food? Do I just go back to the Innova? I changed from Innova because he just was not thrilled with it and I had to use a wet food topper to get him to eat it.

Thanks for your help.

Ahh, the poop wars lol. I'm going through the same thing right now. I started Alice on Verus when I got her and she didn't really like it. Switched to Orijen, she ate it for a few days then refused to. I switched again and now I'm having to do a little "food trial" with her to see what gives her loose stools vs. what she can handle but also likes. So far I've narrowed it down to -beef gives her really loose stools, even diarrhea, and grains seem to really bulk up her stool where she goes like 5 times a day and it's super soft. I'm using chicken, rice and pumpkin (she loves the pumpkin, so I'm not sure what to tell you there other than open her mouth and stick in in there with your finger) and then I give a bit of the food with it for 2 meals and see how she does. If she's good, then check, it's on the list and she can have that flavor. (I'm sticking all within the same brand btw.)
I ruled out anything besides the food with two stool checks at the vet and an exam and she's otherwise perfectly fine.
So, if everything at the vet checks out normal, you may have to do something like that - give the chick/rice until poops are good, then slowly incorperate some of the food and see what happens, if the loose stools come back - scratch that food, go back to chick/rice for a day or two then try something different. Think about the ingredients (mainly the protien source and how much grains if any and what ones)more so than the brand. Alice is doing fine as far as being willing to eat the dog food even though she had the chicken/rice. She loves the brand I'm using though (Nature's Variety), just trying to figure out which formula/protien source she'll do best on.
One thing I've definatly learned on YT is that these little babies can have sensative tummies and what works great for one dog may not work at all for another and sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to figure it out. (p.s. - the vet wasn't any help in figuring out what food to use, they just wanted to stick her on a SD rx diet, which when it's just a food sensativity issue, there are much better options).
Good luck at the vet
